The first rapper I'm going to talk about is Tupac. He is one
of the biggest names in Hip-Hop and rap to this day. He has made one of the
biggest impact's in rap ever. MTV ranked him number 2 of greatest MC's of All
Time in 2005 and Rolling Stone ranked him number 86th on their list of Greatest
Artists of All Time. "All Eyez on Me" was One of his greatest selling
albums ever. Some of his other albums are "2Pacalypse Now," and
"Me Against The World." Some of his songs from his albums "All
Eyez on Me" are "Life Goes On," "Ambitions az a
Ridah," "Only God Can Judge Me," "No More Pain," and
" I Ain't Mad at Chu." Some of his other songs are "How Do U
Want It," "Dear Mama," "Smile," "I Get
Around," and "Keep Ya Head Up." The song "How Do U Want
It" ft. K-Ci and JoJo was his number one selling song. It was one posted
up on Billboard for 33 weeks. It peak date was July 6th, 1996. The song
"Dear Mama" was his second top selling song according to Billboard.
It was on the charts for 20 weeks. Tupac's biggest rivalry was Notorious B.I.G.
It was a West Coast versus East Coast rivalry (Bad Boy Records versus Death Row
Records). After Tupac got robbed and shot biggie made a song that talks about
his shooting but the song doesn’t directly call out Pac. The song by Biggie
that started the rivalry was "Who Shot Ya." Tupac then made a song
called "Hit Em Up" as a response to Biggie's diss. This rivalry is
known as one of the greatest rivalry in hip-hop/rap. Tupac soon died on
September 13th, 1996.
